The Atlantic sea has always provided a living for people on Morocco’s coast, but dwindling catches in their fishing nets have caused many to seek a living in surfing in Taghazout.
In the 14 years since a professional Portuguese surfer set up camp in Taghazout, the tiny berber fishing village has become a major international destination. And the vast majority of riders out on the waves are Europeans.
